Disabled last 10 years due to Lupus and other related illness. Doing very well right now, all things considered, I am happily married, 11 years, 1 grown daughter and 2 teen-age granddaughters that I have raised. After a 4 year stay with us, my mother now resides in assisted living. She has alzheimers. ! have a half-brother & sister, both older. I have very few relatives so i am always glad to connect to distant cousins. I started the ancestry search a couple of years ago looking for a Cherokee Grandmother my Grannie used to talk about and after no luck at that I started on my Daddy's family of Brannon. His parents passed before I was born and he had a few cousins I would see from his mother's family but none from his father's family. All I know is thier names and where they are buried. My daddy had one sister and she had one son and i havebeen unable to contact him to ask if he remembers any names. Now on Moma;s maternal side, I have ancestors galore. Mostly Phillips, Vance, Nelson, Stricklin,Sentelle. Most came from Georgia, SC, NC, VA and a few scattered elsewhere in the southeast. I am of Celtic heritage. I would really like to find that Cherokee grandmother my Grannie used to talk about. Thank you for having me and feel free to ask any questions.
